Capital Time: Total potential hours, 24×7.
Shift Time: The time the machine is crewed by operators, measured as the duration from shift start to shift end.
Open Time: Also known as “Planned Production Time”, the total time the machine was planned to operate for.
Production Time: Actual time the machine could produce, excludes setup time.
Run Time: Time the machine is producing (Run Normal + Run Slow time).
Idle Time: Also known as “No Shift Time”, e.g. weekends, holidays, time between shifts.
Planned Downtime: Any planned lost time, such as meal breaks, cleaning, maintenance etc.
Setup: Time in changeover.
Unplanned Downtime: All unplanned lost time, including short stops.
Run Slow: Running at slow speed.
Run Normal: Running at expected speed.
